Remember Vintage: a vintage market in a 16th century Italian Palace

Last updated:

Set in the astonishing Villa Fenaroli, a sixteenth century palace hotel located in Rezzato (Lombardy), the 7th edition of Remember Vintage was quite the event to attend last weekend, in the province of Brescia. Even though it quite the new kid on the block when it comes to vintage fairs in Italy, Remember Vintage has however already well established itself among Italian vintage lovers, particularly thanks to its unique locations and its relative ease of accessibility (one hour drive from Milan).

The exhibition area of the 7th edition of Remember Vintage was not that big and covered only the ground floor of the Villa Feranoli, since (unfortunately) a great part of the palace cannot be visited. However, when the day is clear and the temperature is mild, the well kept garden and courtyard of the villa compensate for the lack of space available in the covered area.

Remember Vintage has its focus on fashion, clothes and accessories, with a few merchants specialized in modern antiques and vinyls. Most of the exhibitors come from Brescia, which gives the event a more genuine atmosphere than that of other big vintage fairs in Italy.

Events like Vintage Selection (in Florence), Next Vintage (close to Pavia), Parma Vintage and Mercanteinfiera (both near Parma) can count on dealers from all over the country. Remember Vintage has instead a more a local approach: the vast majority of exhibitors and visitors come from all over Brescia and nearby cities. The quality of items on display at the fair, is however not penalized by this particular choice.

Visitors attending Remember Vintage will be able to access a pretty wide range of vintage items: real luxury bags by Vuitton (by the way, if you have troubles recognizing a genuine handbag from a fake, you should know that there are a few simple hints & obvious indicators to remember, that will help you make a thoughtful purchase), shoes by Ferragamo and Burberry’s thenchcoats, but also real bargains like sartorial apparel from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, accessories with no brand (except the quality of old times’ craftsmanship), as well as common & rare vinyls at low prices.
